Eveline, the Historical Sailing Yacht,
in Langkawi

In 1911, in the height of Shanghai’s treaty port boom days, this sailing yacht was built for the prestigious Shanghai Yacht Club’s Commodore as his coastal racer cruiser and her racing career was widely covered in the media then. As Shanghai declined, she was brought to Singapore where this sailing yacht was sunk to avoid capture by the invading Japanese army and brought up after the war. Since the mid 1950s she has been a constant and much loved fixture on the region’s sailing scene as the oldest Asian built sailing yacht in Langkawi.

Now, sailing yacht Evelin was in Langkawi, has been sympathetically modernized without losing her period charm and retains many original features including original teak and brass fittings. This sailing yacht spacious decks with extensive shading mean guests are not confined to the rear cockpit and children are to be found enjoying themselves in the net under the bowsprit whilst adults bask in the sun or enjoy the breezes under the shady canopy, is here in Langkawi.
