99 Islands Full Day Cruise
For a Full Day Cruise the yacht leaves usually around 11.00 am, but since it’s a private cruise with no other guests on board it’s your decision whether you want to enjoy a later breakfast in your resort or start early to make use of a longer day.
As on all our cruises you will be pampered by the attentive crew right from departure with cool towels, freshly pressed fruit juices, mineral waters and a selection of fresh fruits. A variety of nibbles and snacks help you to bridge the time until a delicious meal is served comprising prawns, fish, chicken, salads, vegetables, rice and noodles (for our Muslim guests: all food served is strictly halal). An open bar with free flow of mineral water, juices, soft drinks, beer, quality wines and selected spirits invites all those who want to add some particular indulgence to the day.
As said before there is an abundance of routes a yacht can take, but for a day cruise we like to recommend particularly the following two>
Dayang Bunting Lake/Lake of the Pregnant Maiden
This cruise takes you to a romantique anchorage between steep limestone cliffs mounted by green rainforest with some of the most spectacular views. Enjoy a swim in the sheltered waters or a dinghi ride to explore the area. You will then be brought to the island where you will reach the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden after a short walk through the forest reserve. The Dayang Bunting Lake is the biggest fresh water Lake of Langkawi and definitely worth visiting.
The legend tells of a fairy princess married to an earthly prince whose first child died shortly after birth. Being utterly sad and depressed she buried the child in the clear fresh waters of the lake. Before returning to her celestial abode, she blessed the waters so that any childless maiden who bathed in the lake would conceive thereafter. On the way back a beautiful sunset may add another highlight to a memorable day.
This tour needs all together 8 hours.
Kilim River/Hole in the Wall
In former times Hole in the Wall was an often used pirate's hideaway with it's narrow entrance barely visible from the sea. After having passed a wide protected anchorage stretches into Kilim Nature Park which features a stunning mix of well-protected green mangrove forests, lonely white beaches and dramatic limestone rocks.
On the tour along the calm winding river you will observe the wonders of the park's ecosystem like the mangroves, the overhanging Bogak Trees, Brown Eagles, Tree Crabs, iguanas, otters and Macaques. Visit the bat cave, feed the eagles or the tame stingrays at the fish farm. On the way from or to Kuah there are a number of beautiful secluded anchorages with fine beaches. This tour can be done in one day but is absolutely stunning for an overnight cruise as the scenery is really breathtaking. Parts of the movie "The King and I" with Jodie Foster has been filmed in this area.
Departure: 11.00 am from Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Kuah
