Wedding onboard NAUTINESS
We recently hosted a romantic wedding on board our luxurious 24-metre motor yacht NAUTINESS. In this case, the bride and groom asked us to organize the wedding as well as to provide the facilities. So, in addition to the usual captain and 4 crews on this boat, we engaged an English chef to handle the food and beverage requirements. We also arranged for the priest and the Malaysian government official to take care of the paperwork. We ordered and placed the flowers and other decorations around the yacht, including a red carpet on the jetty. All the crew dressed in white uniforms to receive the wedding party.

In the late afternoon, about 25 guests arrived from England to board the boat. The bride, arriving first on the arm of her father, was stunning in long white silk, white orchids holding her veil and nestled in her hair. The rest of the party followed, including the groom and his family. Once the priest was aboard, we set off for a small, protected anchorage about ½ hour away. As celebratory drinks were served and enjoyed, we arrived to drop the anchor. The winds and sea were calm; the white sand beach with its coconut palms was only a few meters away. Langkawi’s limestone islands, covered in tropical plantings, surrounded us.

On the upper deck, NAUTINESS stereo provided soft background music, chosen by the bride and groom. The wedding rings nestled on a silk cushion, surrounded by flowers and a bible. We had consulted with the priest ahead to time to ensure the ceremony would be according to the wishes of the couple; he did an excellent job. All the guests applauded happily as the newly married couple exchanged rings and kissed at the end of the ceremony. Our chef finished the preparation of the food (provided by The Loaf restaurant in nearby Telaga Harbor, and our staff began serving the elegant canapés and pouring the Dom Perignon.

At the same time we upped anchor, then cruised through the beautiful nearby islands to another small cove where we all could watch the evening dramatic sunset. At last light we returned to the marina, and there wished the new husband and wife, along with their guests, a fond farewell and best wishes for their upcoming honeymoon. It had been a tiring day for the crew, but a happy one too. We all were delighted that we were able to provide an unforgettable special day for the newlyweds.
